In the modern era the 3 that stand out for me are Pepe, Lukaku and Pogba.

They all highlight everything that is wrong with modern football.

If you are talking in terms of wasted fees then Pepe at £72m must be right up there.
Understood Emery wanted Zaha but was given Pepe instead.

In terms of massive fees Hazard has done nothing at Real for whatever £100m + he cost and most of Barca's troubles are down to Coutinho costing £140m & that Dembele something over £100m. I see they have just signed Dembele again plus Raphinha obviously (along with Abamayang, F Torres , Kessie etc) using their magic money tree

Who was the Romanian striker who was so bad Chelsea sacked him then sued him for doing coke and getting banned? There was also a highly rated Croat who scored against us but that, typically, was about it?

What is it about Chelsea and strikers?! Probably the last decent one they had was Costa? Has to be Sanchez from Arsenal to Man United, what on earth happened to the guy? Going back a bit Thomas Brolin to Leeds was a bit pants!
